Droplet Mobility
Depinning, retention, and adhesion of droplets and particle-laden droplets are being investigated. All results were published in the world-leading journals in interfacial phenomena.
Droplet Impact
Droplet impact on textured surfaces are being investigated.
Droplet Coalescence
Droplet coalescence along a superhydrophilic wire is being explored. A new phenomenon, where droplet self-accelerates upon coalesence, has been reported.
Droplet Manipulation
Using a stimuli-responsive surface textured with high-aspect-ratio nanostructures, underwater droplets have been manipulated upon external stimuli.
Droplet-Assisted Self Assembly
By allowing a particle-laden droplet to evaporate on a superhydrophobic surface, microparticles with different properties have been self-assembled on the tips of solid surfaces.
Droplet Phase-Change
Phase-change of droplets, e.g., condensation, icing, and evaporation, on smooth and textured surfaces are being examined.
Fog Collection
Fog collection is being systematically examined using a single wire with various wettabilities and dimensions. The results were published at leading journals in interfacial phenomena and were highlighted by Nature Materials and the cover page in Soft Matter.
Surface Engineering
Surface micro-/nano-structures have been fabricated on silicon-based, carbon-based, and metallic materials. Approaches such as photolithography, oxygen plasma, electrochemical process, and hydrothermal process have been used.
